Process of Recruitment:

Let us look at the different steps in the selection process of the DMRC Recruitment 2018:


Non –Executive Vacancies:

There are only two levels of assessment for the recruitment of the Non-Executive vacancies:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – Two papers
  2. Medical Examination


Maintainers Vacancies:

Similar to Non-Executive posts, Maintainers vacancies also have only two levels of assessment for the recruitment:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – One paper
  2. Medical Examination


Executive Cadre vacancies:

Executive Cadre vacancies have three levels of assessment for the recruitment:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – Two papers
  2. Group Discussion and Personal Interview
  3. Medical Examination


Details of the Exam:

The exams are multiple choice questions based and the answers are subjected to a negative marking of 1/3th marks for every wrong answer. Candidates need to qualify in the paper one and paper two separately:

The Paper 1 of the CBT would have 120 questions which should be answered in 1.5 hours. The total marks the test is given for are 120 marks. The following topics will be covered in the paper 1:

  • General Awareness
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • Quantitative Aptitude ( This is replaced by General English for Maintainer-Electrician, Electronic Mechanic, Fitter and Ref and AC Mechanic)
  • Knowledge of the trade or discipline

The paper 2 is only applicable for the candidates applying for Executive and Non-Executive posts and not for Maintainers posts. This paper has 60 questions for 60 marks. The test time is 45 minutes. The subjects covered are:

  • General English
